We had a sad event in our house at the end of August. Our dog Kayla became very sick very fast and ended up passing away at the age of almost 10. She was always underfoot, watching, following, loving on everyone. We miss her a lot. Explaining death to young children is not easy, nor is it easy to explain why daddy took Kayla in the car to the vet and she never came home. Now they think that when someone is sick they are going to die. So we are trying to have small simple discussions about hows and whens and whats of death. They seem to understand for the moment.
